The Lady Panthers extended their winning streak to 13 games and advance to the Area round of playoffs with a 54-35 win over Klein Oak Monday.

They jumped out to a quick lead and at halftime held a 12 point lead. Klein Oak battled back in the second half scoring 23 points but the Lady Panther never let up scoring 30 points in the second half themselves to seal the victory.

The sophomore duo of Ayla McDowell and Melanie Hodges lead the attack. McDowell knocked down 22 points and had six rebounds. Hodges scored double digits also notching 19 points and seven rebounds. Rounding out the team’s scoring were seniors Di’Aunestie Henderson with 6 points and Larsyn Catalon with four points while junior Evonne Sidney scored three points.

The Lady Panthers faceoff with Oak Ridge Friday at 7pm at the Campbell Center located at 1865 Aldine Bender Rd, Houston, TX 77032.
