This senior spotlight shines brightly on Senior Isabella Jordan. Known for being a talented, hard-working softball player with big goals. Her peers agree she is someone we can all look up to, balancing her personal life on top of school responsibilities.
When she graduates, she will attend Prairie View A&M University. Jordan is planning to
major in Kinesiology, her major goal being to become a trainer for the Houston Texans while
also owning a hair salon on the side (possibly even a whole chain).
She is working hard to reach her goal, doing all sorts of studying and making sure she stays as responsible as possible to achieve these goals. Jordan is a hard worker, and she seems truly determined to reach these dreams of hers. Of course, with all of this studying comes stress. She has to deal with her day to day responsibilities. Having to balance school, sport, and her own personal life all at the same time while also focusing on her future.,
“It’s pretty hard. I deal with it by maintaining good relationships with the people around me and making sure to communicate my conflicts with my bosses, coaches, and teachers,” she said.
This is pretty solid advice to our underclassmen, learning how to maintain relationships with people in order to communicate if you ever just need a moment to breathe and recollect yourself. Balance is always a good step to maintaining your stress.
Speaking of advice, Jordan also says the most important thing is to, “Stay grounded. Set
boundaries. Have your priorities straight. And remember to have fun because at the end of the
day, we are still kids.”
Reminding us that even as we struggle, it’s important to remember that everyone in school still has a lot of growing to do. Along with this advice she gives to everyone, she said a quote that helps keep her grounded is, “Expect the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on what comes.” – Zig Ziglar
