Student empowerment week is coming up on March 24th to March 28th. This year’s theme is philanthropy and pride.
Cy Springs has been doing empowerment week since 2018, but it was influenced by the 2014 two weeks of individual program activities such as Men of Honor and Girls Rule.
Since the empowerment activities were only limited to program participants, Cy Springs branched out, creating student empowerment week to unify the entire student body.
Principal Dr. Henry said the purpose of student empowerment week is to motivate students and highlight how important and valuable they are.
“I want our students to know that they have so much potential to offer,” Henry said. “I want students to be proud of our school and feel that they are not only learning,
but also growing their character and future.”
On Monday, March 24th, students will wear Cy Springs gear. Show your PROWL Pride with club/organization shirts or by purchasing spirit shirts for $10 in the Panther store.
On Tuesday, March 25th, we are celebrating philanthropy and pride with a video montage of Cy Springs scholars and Alumni. The dress up theme for this day is Hat Day.
On Wednesday, March 26th, Cy Springs is surprising their scholars with a guest speaker during all lunches. The dress up theme for this day is Bling Out.
On Thursday, March 27th, the annual poetry slam will be hosted in the auditorium during all English classes. The dress up theme for this day is Back to Kindergarten.
Finally, on Friday, March 28th, Cy Springs will celebrate outstanding scholars with a breakfast brunch. The dress code and the dress up theme for this day is Guys in Ties and Girls in Pearls.
